Daycare Fulhamer Allee
The potential of the spacious kindergarten garden in Berlin-Neukölln lies in the large existing deciduous trees, which were to be preserved and integrated. Years of use of the kindergarten garden, an extension building, and changed pedagogical concepts required an adaptation.
A naturalistic children's garden has been created for 180 children, offering both retreat spaces and activity areas. A framework of curved pathways and greened hills creates experiential spaces that are hardly found in the dense city. Play equipment is subordinate to the landscape and is discovered during play. The most popular play area is the shrubbery play zones. This allows children to make natural experiences in a playful way, aligning with the pedagogical principles of early childhood education.
Climbing courses made from untreated Robinia wood have been tailored to the available space. Multifunctional, low base walls made from various materials, including recycled materials, serve as seating and balancing opportunities, protect slopes, and keep the play sand in place.
