Löcknitz Elementary School

Our concept for the redesign of the schoolyard was awarded first prize in the competition and has been implemented in two construction phases to date. Our concept envisages the ecological redesign of the entire open spaces of the school and after-school care center as a campus. A variety of natural play and exercise areas are harmoniously integrated into a green hilly landscape, which is criss-crossed by a well thought-out pathway concept. This is based on the principle of short distances to ensure efficient use. The front schoolyard area, which faces the town's main road, is protected by green gabions, creating a pleasant place to spend time.
